Boots Haul #1

Good old Boots and their 3 for 2 deals. I was only in there to buy some hand cream and I came out with five other bits and bobs which I probably don’t need – a situation I’m sure many other girls can empathise with.

First stop was the ‘indulgent bathing aisle’ – but no bubble baths for me, I’m a bit of a bubble bath/bath soak hoarder and get bored of having the same scent in every bath. I hadn’t taken a look at the Soap & Glory bit for quite a while. I had a phase last year during which I constantly used their hand creams, shower gels, bubble baths and body butters and, if I’m honest, I got a little sick of their signature scents. However, they do some cute little travel-sized versions which are always useful for keeping in my bag.

I chose the Soap & Glory Endless Glove hand cream. Apparently it’s a 2 in 1 – moisture mask and hand cream. I think that’s just basically a more appealing way of saying that it’s a moisturising hand cream, which just also happens to justify that the product is 50p more expensive than their other travel sized hand cream, Hand Food. I mainly chose it because it smells different to their other products. It’s a very minty, more mature smell than the others; very “man fresh out of the shower” which makes a nice change.

A lot of my friends have been fending off colds and flus recently and I’ve found myself wishing I had some sanitiser on me as I HATE being ill and don’t want to risk a chance of infection. I only really chose this one because it’s pink and smells lovely, but it’ll be nice to have peace of mind that I won’t wake up the next day sneezing all over myself. (Lovely image, I know.)

Seeing as it was 3 for 2 across that area of Boots, I also picked up a Sanctuary Spa Salt Scrub sachet. (Steady on with the sibilance…) I’d been meaning to get one of these for ages but I’m happy to be getting it for free thanks to the 3 for 2. I have quite dry skin and thick hair so I love body scrubs for exfoliating and making sure I’m not plagued by ingrown hairs on my legs.

I couldn’t resist a little walk around the makeup section too. My liquid eyeliner, L’Oreal Superliner Ultra Precision, was on its way out so I bought the L’Oreal Superliner Black Lacquer as a replacement. I hear this is meant to be brand replacement for the much loved Carbon Gloss eyeliner that L’Oreal ceased production of a few years ago, so I am eager to see whether or not it lives up to the hype.

That said, I have also been getting into gel eyeliner recently. I’ve found that brushes with bristles render the already difficult feat of the perfect cat flick impossible. This is mainly because the bristles tend to cake if you don’t wash the brush out every day, and gel eyeliner is a massive pain to wash out and I often don’t have time to if I’m in a rush. So, I bought the Real Techniques silicone eyeliner brush. I haven’t heard any other beauty blogger talk about this yet so I was buying it based purely on the hopes that it will be easier to clean than gel from a normal soft brush.

Last, but certainly not least: I picked up a Revlon Lip Butter in the shade Macaroon. I only have one other of these (the shade, Pink Truffle) and I absolutely love it. I can’t believe how moisturising they are considering the colour payoff! I much prefer these to Baby Lips as they are completely 50/50 in pigmentation and moisturisation – definitely worth the extra £5!
